Alma 56:47
Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.

In a Galaxy Far, Far, Away...

Well, Japan isn't actually it's own galaxy, but it is pretty far away.  But anyways, this week was pretty fun.  This week there have been a few Star Wars related things happen that I thought I would mention.

So one of the Elders here, that isn't me loves Star Wars.  He's going home this transfer, but in his testimony during District Meeting, he gave a Star Wars analogy.  He said how we must follow the voice of the Lord, just like Luke followed the voice of Obi-wan.  Only then if wehave enough faith and rely on the "force", or the power of God, will we be able to destroy the Death Star.  Or in other words, overcome our trials.  Hopefully one day I'll be able to bear a testimony and include Star Wars in it while speaking Japanese.  It was just way awesome.

Another thing that happened was while we were riding our bikes home from a members house, me and one other Elder both imagined we were riding on speeder bikes.  But we thought it at like the same time.  It was so crazy.  But riding your bike around is much more fun if you pretend that you're riding a speeder bike or driving a pod racer. Either one works fine.

My Jedi training is still continuing.  Everday I'm getting better. Little by little.  Hopefully after this transfer I will be in tune with the force enough so that if my Jedi master leaves, I'll still be okay.  That's the plan at least.  There is still a lot of work that has to be done.  But I will trust in the force.  And trust in the Lord.  To paraphrase Master Yoda, "My ally is the force, (The Lord) and a powerful ally it (He) is."

I hope that all of you wil trust in the force this week.  We can do great things if our trust is in the right place.  May the force ALWAYS be with you!

Love, Elder Wixom
