Alma 56:47
Now they never had fought, yet they did not fear death; and they did think more upon the liberty of their fathers than they did upon their lives; yea, they had been taught by their mothers, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.

The Snow Should Start any Time Now
So it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in Nagaoka. The only thing we are missing is the snow. I don't know if we should be excited for the snow or if we should be reinforcing our apartment to make sure it holds up. But it should be fun when it snows. In the main street they have a bunch of Christmas lights up, so the snow will make it even more festive. Except there is going to be a lot of snow probably. But oh well. We'll survive most likely.
This week we were able to have a few fun things happen. We had a lesson with U san our investigator that went well. Right now he is really stuck on the fact that he likes smoking and he doesn't think he can quit. But besides that and not really coming to church, he wants to be baptized and doesn't really have anything stopping him I think. We'll have to see what happens when we meet this week. He's been reading the Book of Mormon and praying everyday so that is a good improvement. He just needs to start coming to church. The branch here in Nagaoka every month for fast Sunday fast for some of the less-active members in the branch. But this next month, they are going to fast for U san too. How great is that? I'm sure it will be able to help him come to church.
This year for Thanksgiving we didn't really have a big dinner like most Americans do. But we had a fun time. I made chicken katsu and we had mountain dew, cabbage, eggs, and rice. It wasn't much but it was really tasty. But it was more Thanksgiving-like than some of the other American missionaries ate though. So that's nice. But Thanksgiving isn't too big of a thing here in Japan, but we still had a nice day.
Well that's all for today. Maybe next week I will write more. Maybe not. Who knows?
